What is Vocabulary Diary?

Vocabulary Diary is a "word storage" book. It provides students with a way and means to categorize words according to their structure, and not alphabetically. This assists them in understanding contextual clues which are located in prefixes, suffixes, and roots. This book also helps students with organization skills. Before papers are thrown away, important words are entered into the book. Learning with Vocabulary Diary therefore, is sequential; one lesson after another regardless of the subject. Students take their diary to class (or at home), year after year.

Vocabulary Diary comes

      in five pastel colors.

They are:

Beige

Peach

All pages are the same color.  Imagine a book for a student with all lavender pages. They like that kind of stuff. It provides a sense of ownership and identity.  Often times, a lack of identity prevents students from fitting in. Vocabulary Diary helps immensely with organizational skills too.  All new knowledge is recorded and retained. That in turn makes it retrievable.

Vocabulary Diary allows students to take charge of their learning.  It provides a way and mean for students to store and retrieve knowledge efficiently. As they enter words into this book, they are reminded of how much they learn, because they see their new words over and over again.  This repeated exposure solidifies their learning.  Over time, this knowledge is stored in their long term memory.  You cannot go wrong with Vocabulary Diary™.

Lastly, I believe that 30% of all students need intensive phonics instruction for many years, possibly through high school;  and 40% of all students need phonics through grade eight.  Why spend more time on learning how to read, when you should spend more time on what to read?  Vocabulary Diary accelerates learning, hands down.  So welcome, to Vocabulary Diary.
